Art in Motion Latin Dancers performance group was formed in late 2003 and is based in the Philadelphia/South New Jersey area, with members from New Jersey, Delaware, and Washington DC. This group of energetic, experienced and gifted teachers and performers assembled to share their artistic visions and to create and perform their own choreography. Most of the members are dance instructors and teach salsa at various locations including La Luna Dance Studio, the Starlight Ballroom, local nightclubs, the University of Pennsylvania, and also at venues in Delaware and the Washington DC area. Art in Motion has performed in dance clubs locally, and has performed nationally and internationally. They have performed and taught at 6 Salsa Congresses last year alone. Other accomplishments include various members being featured in MTV's Real World: Philadelphia, in Jill Scott's video "SLIDES", and as back-up dancers for Latin Singer Gloria Allende. |

Born in
the Dominican Republic, DJ Nilson
Diaz Gomez arrived in Canada 1998
and brought with him just a few
salsa records, cds, and a deep love
and passion for the flavour of the
music and dance. Being a professional
dancer in Puerto Plata, he also
had a strong feel for the unique
and 'danceable’ rhythms the
music had to offer. It was that
same love and passion for salsa
that spawned his professional DJ
career in Toronto, 2001. Today,
DJ Nilson's rare and beautiful salsa
music collection consists of over
4000 Vintage Lps and Cds! His favourite
styles are New York and Puerto Rican,
both new and old school, Boogaloo,
Latin Soul and Latin Jazz.
